Shopify Plus Pricing in 2026: What It Costs and When It’s Worth It

Shopify Plus costs from $2,300 a month. What the price includes, what costs extra, how it compares with Advanced, and when Plus pays for itself — from Shopify’s own pages.

Shopify Plus is Shopify's enterprise plan, and its price is the first question most growing brands ask about it. The headline number is easy to find. What it actually includes, what costs extra, and when it pays for itself take more digging. This guide pulls it together from Shopify's own pricing and Help Center pages.

The short answer: in the US, Shopify Plus starts at $2,300 a month on a 3-year term or $2,500 a month on a 1-year term. Higher-volume brands may be offered a variable, revenue-based platform fee instead. Apps, themes and custom development are extra.

Shopify Plus price at a glance

Term Monthly price (USD) Per year
1-year term $2,500 $30,000
3-year term $2,300 $27,600

Source: Shopify Help Center — Shopify Plus plan. Shopify sets local prices in other currencies — for example £1,800–£1,950, €2,100–€2,250 CA$3,400–3,650 or A$3,700–4,000 a month — and notes that pricing can change, so always confirm with your quote.

The variable platform fee

Shopify says higher-volume businesses may pay a variable platform fee based on revenue and business model instead of the flat price, and that the fee differs for B2B and direct-to-consumer orders. Shopify doesn't publish the rate or the revenue level where it starts, so it only appears in a sales quote. If you're a high-volume brand, ask for it early so you can model your real annual cost.

How Plus compares with the other Shopify plans

Plan Billed monthly Billed yearly
Basic $39/month $29/month
Grow $105/month $79/month
Advanced $399/month $299/month
Shopify Plus From $2,500/month (1-year term) From $2,300/month (3-year term)

Standard plan prices as listed on Shopify's pricing page in 2026.

The jump from Advanced to Plus is about $23,000–$26,000 a year in platform fees alone, depending on the billing terms you compare. That's why the useful question isn't "can we afford Plus?" but "what does Plus let us do that's worth more than that?"

What the Plus price includes

According to Shopify's Help Center, these are included with Plus and not available on lower plans:

  • Full checkout customization. Apps can add UI extensions to the information, shipping and payment steps of checkout — on other plans, only the thank-you and order status pages can be extended (Shopify checkout customization).
  • Custom apps built with Shopify Functions, for your own discount, shipping, payment and validation logic. Other plans can only use public apps built with Functions.
  • Credit card field customization and payment terms at checkout.
  • Unlimited B2B catalogs, assigned directly to company locations. (B2B is available on every plan; standard plans are limited in catalogs.)
  • 9 expansion stores on top of your main store — for other regions, brands or wholesale.
  • Unlimited staff accounts at no extra cost.
  • Up to 25 custom Hydrogen storefronts for headless builds.
  • Unlimited staging stores for testing changes safely.
  • Shopify POS Pro for 20 locations, and waived for up to 200 retail locations if Shopify Payments is your main retail payment provider.
  • Email suppression, enhanced discount rules, extra APIs (such as GiftCard and Multipass), early-access feature test drives and Plus Academy courses.

Gift card balances can also be imported on Plus — something that matters when you migrate from another platform.

What costs extra

  • Payment processing. Plus merchants get lower Shopify Payments rates than other plans. If you use a third-party payment provider instead, you pay that provider plus a small percentage fee to Shopify, widely reported as 0.2% on Plus.
  • Apps. Reviews, subscriptions, loyalty, search and similar apps are billed separately by their developers.
  • Theme and custom development. Your theme build, custom apps and integrations (ERP, OMS, 3PL) are paid to your agency or in-house team.
  • Moving to Plus. Upgrading an existing Shopify store is a plan change; moving from another platform is a migration project. See our Magento to Shopify migration cost guide for typical ranges.

When Shopify Plus is worth it

Plus tends to pay for itself when one or more of these is true:

  1. You need checkout changes that drive revenue. Custom fields, upsells, B2B payment terms, delivery rules or validation in checkout itself are Plus-only.
  2. You sell B2B at scale. Unlimited catalogs, direct assignment to company locations and custom checkout flows for wholesale and retail in one store.
  3. You run several stores. Nine expansion stores cover separate regions, brands or a wholesale store without separate subscriptions.
  4. You have a growing team. Unlimited staff accounts and staging stores make it practical for larger teams and agencies to work safely.
  5. You're replatforming from Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud or a custom platform. Compared with enterprise license, hosting and maintenance costs, Plus is often the cheaper option — see our Shopify Plus vs Adobe Commerce cost comparison.

Plus is usually not worth it yet if you run a single direct-to-consumer store, don't need checkout changes, and your team works comfortably on Advanced. Many brands do well on Advanced for years.

How to get the best Plus price

  • Compare 1-year and 3-year terms. The 3-year term saves $2,400 a year at the starting price, in exchange for the longer commitment.
  • Ask about the variable fee up front. If your revenue is high, the variable fee — not the starting price — will decide your real cost.
  • Use Shopify Payments where you can. It avoids the third-party transaction fee and usually gives better rates.
  • Audit your apps. Plus includes features some stores pay apps for, such as advanced discount rules and B2B tools.
  • Plan the build before you sign. Knowing which checkout, B2B and integration features you'll use makes it easier to judge whether Plus pays back.
